What is Reveal Multicolor! It is a patented technology that allows you to print color with a direct thermal printer. How is this different from our existing RevealPrint technology? With RevealPrint, you define the color zones on the label. These are pre-determined upfront before the labels are made and then when those zones are activated by heat, they turn the color of that zone.
How Reveal Multicolor works is that you can choose up to two additional colors on your labels besides black, and depending on heat settings on the printer, the print will turn the correct color based on head temperature. The beauty of this is that you do not have to define color zones. You can print the color you want anywhere on the label just by selecting the correct temperature setting. By using different heat settings, the label will turn the correct color that you choose.
The challenge we have once the product was developed and approved was to get the printer manufacturers on board with our program. Direct thermal printers have one global heat setting, meaning when you turn the burn temp up or down, it effects the entire printhead evenly. In order for this product to work, we need the printer manufacturers to allow the software to turn up or down the heat during the printing of the label. It has been the biggest challenge with this new product. We are happy to say that as of the 4th quarter in 2023, we have one printer manufacturer on board and several more in the wings.
Once the market sees the value in this technology, we believe all printer manufacturers will open up and allow the heat settings to be controlled during the printing of the labels.
Reveal Multicolor facestock produces crisp, bold images in color anywhere on the label, all with added benefit of non-yellowing, non-fading properties. Reveal Multicolor can be ordered in three materials. There will be a paper solution for shipping, receiving or picking. The second is in tag stock form with no adhesive and the third is in a Polypropylene material for applications that need moisture resistance.
