Self shredding medical labels are the solution!
Are you throwing away medical devices or packaging, labeled with personal health information on it? Self shredding medical labels might be the answer to your problem.
Problem: Most healthcare providers use a one piece label construction, also known as healthcare stickers. Meaning that on one label, all of the patient information is printed. With the new HIPAA regulations, the patients name needs to be removed from the packaging, whether it be a IV bag, blood bag or medicine container when the item is thrown away. Most current label solutions are difficult to comply with HIPAA mainly because the label is all one piece, next to impossible to remove. Healthcare personal have to cut and scrape away the patients name, very time consuming and frustrating.
Solution: We have designed what is called a Self Shredding Medical Label that is in two parts. When the label is printed and applied to the product, it is one complete label. We then put a special face slit around the location of the patients name where that portion of the label can be easily removed. When the package is ready to be discarded, the personal health information (PHI) is removed in one simple step and in compliance with HIPAA standards. This product helps protect hospitals from privacy violations.
